Karl Uhle (soccer player)

Heinrich Karl Uhle (born July 16, 1887 in Leipzig ; † October 12, 1969 there ) was a German football player .

Uhle, born in Leipzig, joined the local VfB Leipzig at the age of eleven and was a member of it until 1918. On May 27, 1906 he reached the final of the German championship with the club , which was decided five minutes before the end of the game with the 2-1 winning goal of his teammate Heinrich Riso . The following year he failed with his club in the semi-finals at the later champions Freiburg FC with 2: 3. In the final round of the German Championship in 1910 , he and his team failed in the quarter-finals with 1: 2 at the reigning champions Karlsruher FC Phönix . In that game, however, he scored his only goal in a final round with the opening goal in the 30th minute. In the final round of the German Championship in 1911 , he played his last three of a total of eight final round matches and was defeated in the final by the Berlin TuFC Viktoria 1889 .

National team

With the senior national team he took part in the Olympic football tournament held in Stockholm from June 29 to July 4, 1912 . After the 1: 5 opening defeat against the national team of Austria , he came in the consolation round against the national team of Russia as a replacement for Karl Wegele to his only international match . The comparison won 16-0 in Solna on July 1, 1912 , is the highest victory that a DFB- Elf has ever achieved.
