Heinrich Riso (born June 30, 1882 in Leipzig , † August 1952 in the United States ), also called "Heino", was a German football player .

Career

Riso belonged to the VfB Leipzig , for which he played his point games from 1901 to 1912 in the championships organized by the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs in the Gau of North West Saxony. While he was a member of the club, he won the Northwest Saxony Gaume Championship seven times, the Central German Championship four times and the German Championship twice. In the championship final, the first ever in German football, which on May 31, 1903 at Exerzierweide in Altona the DFC Prag with 7: 2 was defeated, he alone scored four goals. He decided the one played against 1. FC Pforzheim in Nuremberg on May 27, 1906 , with his winning goal to make it 2-1 in the 85th minute.

National team

Riso played two internationals for the senior national team , where he made his debut on June 7, 1908 in Vienna in the 2-3 defeat against the national team of Austria . His last appearance for the DFB was on April 4, 1909 in Budapest in a 3-3 draw against the Hungarian national team .

  • Riso retired in 1912 and emigrated to the United States with his family shortly thereafter .
  • Riso is often referred to in the current literature as "Riso I", because Hans Riso , then goalkeeper of FC Wacker 1895 Leipzig , was referred to as "Riso II"; however, both Risos are not related to each other.
