The clubs in the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs were divided into three districts in the 1902/03 season, the winners of district I and district II played the central German football championship. In addition to the Gau Nordwestsachsen that already existed from last season, the Gau Ostsachsen was formed from last year's winner of the Dresden Ball Game Association and the two Mittweida clubs. Gau III only acted as a lower class league. The Magdeburg clubs were still organized in the Association of Magdeburg Ball Game Clubs and played their own football champions.
The Gau III had the status of a fourth class, the following teams belonged to it this season: BSC Hohenzollern 99 Merseburg , Weißenfelser SC 1903 , FC Preußen Weißenfels , SC Naumburg and Zeitzer BC from 1903 .
Championship final
