The Central German Football Championship 1907/08 of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) was the seventh season of the Central German Football Championship . This year's championship was held again in regional Gauligen, the winners of which met in a knockout round . With a 3-2 win after extra time over the Magdeburg FC Viktoria 1896 , FC Wacker Leipzig was able to win its second and last Central German championship title. With this victory, the Leipziger qualified for the German football championship 1907/08 and reached the semifinals after a 3-1 away win against VfR 1897 Breslau . There the Leipzig was eliminated with a 4-0 defeat against the Berlin TuFC Viktoria 89 .

On the 15th Association Day of the VMBV on August 24th and 25th, 1907, it was announced that the association comprised 108 clubs and 5651 members. Again, the clubs were divided into seven districts (Gaue) in the 1906/07 season, the winners of which played the Central German football championship. The districts of Saale, Thuringia and Vogtland now also had a 1st class, which meant that their winners were allowed to take part in the Central German football final for the first time.

The Association of Thuringian-Franconian Ball Game Clubs , founded in Coburg on February 16, 1908 , was not yet a member of the VMBV. In this association, teams from Coburg, Sonneberg, Oberlind, Neustadt b. Coburg and Lichtenfels.

District I - Northwest Saxony

The district of North West Saxony was divided into two groups this season, the winners of which played the North West Saxon soccer championship and thus also the participants in the Central German soccer championship. The last-placed of both groups played a play-off in which the loser had to compete against the winner of the second-rate district class in a relegation game.

The district VI received a 1st class at this season, the winner was allowed to take part in the Central German soccer championship for the first time. The return leg between FC 01 Gotha and FC Britannia Erfurt was rated as a defeat for both clubs.
