The Central German Football Championship 1924/25 of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) was the 24th season of the Central German Football Championship . This year's championship was held again in numerous regional Gauligen, the winners of which met in a knockout round . With a 2-0 win over 1. SV Jena , VfB Leipzig won the Central German soccer championship for the tenth time and thus qualified for the German soccer championship 1924/25 . In this, however, the Leipzig surprisingly eliminated in the second round after a 1: 2 defeat against the Breslauer SC 08 .

For the first time, each association was allowed to nominate two participants for the German soccer championship. Unlike the other associations that nominated the respective runner-up, the VMBV decided to hold an extra tournament. The respective runners-up in the individual districts were qualified for this. For the current season, however, the time was too short, so that only the runners-up of the eight strongest Gaue were allowed to take part in this extra round. The winner of this round of the second , SC Erfurt , then met the loser of the Central German final, 1. SV Jena, in a qualifying game to determine the second participant of the VMBV in the German football championship. Jena prevailed 2-1 after extra time and thus also qualified for this year's German soccer championship, but lost 2-0 in the round of 16 to the future German soccer champions 1. FC Nürnberg .

The participants in the Central German football final were played in 27 regionally distributed Gauligen. The winners of these leagues qualified for the final round of the Central German Championship. The second-placed of the eight strongest districts qualified for the second round , the winner of this round then played against the Central German runner-up for second place in the German football championship.

Round of the second

In order to determine the second participant of the VMBV in the German football championship, an extra round of the respective runners-up of the individual districts was held according to the association's resolution on March 7, 1925. The winner of this tournament then played the second participant against the loser of the Central German finals. Due to deadlines, only the runners-up of the eight strongest Gaue played this season. For the coming season, the runners-up from all districts were qualified for this round.
