The Sport- und Spielvereinigung 1898 Magdeburg (short SuS 1898 Magdeburg , according to the Greens also Sport- und Spielvereinigung 1919 Magdeburg ( SSV 1919 Magdeburg )) was a German football club from Magdeburg , which existed from 1898 to 1945. The club played in the Gauliga Mittelelbe of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV). Home was the sports field at the beautiful view .

history

The first recorded participation in the first class took place in 1920/21 . At that time, seven regional leagues were serving as the top divisions in the VMBV, SuS Magdeburg was fourth of ten participating teams in the Elbe regional league. In 1922/23 , the club won the district league by three points over Magdeburg's FC Viktoria 1896 and Viktoria Stendal and thus qualified for the finals of the Central German Football Championship . There could Pupils Magdeburg advance to the semifinals, which took place on April 15, 1923 game against VfB Leipzig but went with 0: 1. In the following season , the district leagues were dissolved and replaced by the Gauligen that existed as the first leagues until 1919, SuS Magdeburg was second in the Gauliga Mittelelbe with one point behind FV Fortuna Magdeburg . In 1926/27 the club was four points ahead of the FuCC Cricket-Viktoria 1897 Magdeburg Gaumeister Mittelelbe, thus Magdeburg qualified for the second time for the Central German football final. SuS Magdeburg remained in the Gauliga until 1933 , but could no longer achieve any top positions.

After the introduction of the Gauliga in mid- 1933, for which the club was not considered, SuS Magdeburg no longer played first-class. In 1945 the SSV Magdeburg was dissolved, a new establishment was not carried out.
