society

Viktoria Einsiedel was founded on April 2, 1903 as FC Viktoria Einsiedel , but was called Sportverein Viktoria from 1920 . The FC joined the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs in 1909 and participated in its championship, but remained mostly under-class. Before the First World War, the club had 128 members. In 1923 the SV Viktoria rose to the 1st class of the district of central Saxony, one of the highest divisions of the VMBV, but rose again in 1926. After the reorganization of the soccer leagues undertaken by the National Socialists , Einsiedel was incorporated into the third-class 1st district class of Chemnitz. In 1944 Viktoria was integrated into the Gauliga Sachsen , which had been newly formed due to the withdrawal of many clubs , in which it competed in the "Saxon War Class, Chemnitz Department" against the SG Ordnungspolizei Chemnitz and the KSG Germania / Mittweidaer BC . She qualified for the Chemnitz city championship, but this never happened.

In 1945 the SV Viktoria was dissolved and on April 21, 1949 the SG Einsiedel was established in its place, initially with 45 members. The SG Einsiedel was one of the few lower-class sports communities in the GDR that, like Concordia Wilhelmsruh or Berolina Stralau, never became a company sports community until 1990 . Nevertheless, she maintained six sports sections for football, gymnastics, athletics, skiing, women's handball and chess. In football, the SG Einsiedel could hardly play higher class due to the lack of sponsoring companies . The first team started in the district class and in 1952 made it into the fourth-class district class Chemnitz / Karl-Marx-Stadt. In 1975/76 and 1980/81 Einsiedel played for two seasons in the third-rate district league Karl-Marx-Stadt . The last GDR football season in Saxony 1989/90 ended the SG Einsiedel in the district class Karl-Marx-Stadt. In 1951 and 1964 the SG was district champion and won the district soccer cup in 1964 and 1990.

On July 3, 1990, the football section of the sports community changed its status to a registered association (eV) and, as a pure football club, took on the historical name of SV Viktoria Einsiedel again . Viktoria has been playing in the district class / district league since the DFB started playing . From 1993 to 2002 it was the district league Stollberg, since 2002 it has been the district league A Chemnitz (since 2008 the 9th DFB league), since 2015 the city league Chemnitz (8th league).
