society
FC Concordia Wilhelmsruh was founded in 1895 as the Berlin FC Concordia and is one of the founding clubs of the DFB . The club's first home was the sports field on Lindauer Strasse in Berlin-Reinickendorf . Shortly after it was founded, the BFC Concordia played in the Association of Berliner Ballspielvereine , in which it frequently commuted between second and third grade, but also played briefly in first grade.
In 1924, after a merger with SuTV Wilhelmsruh, in 1906 it was renamed to Ballspielclub Concordia Wilhelmsruh . After the end of the war, the club was dissolved and re-established as SG Wilhelmsruh . In 1948 the sports group started again under the name Concordia due to the four-power agreement and played in the Berlin amateur league . With the split of the Berlin Football Association , SG Concordia Wilhelmsruh was incorporated into the newly created DS League in 1950 and played in Berlin-Rosenthal . The then second highest division of the GDR turned out to be a number too big for the Concordia and the immediate relegation followed with only four season points. Analogous to the city rivals SG Hohenschönhausen and SG Köpenick , Concordia Wilhelmsruh could never fall back on financial support from a sponsoring company and was therefore not competitive with company sports associations . The only positive side effect of the independently operating association is the fact that, as things stand, Concordia Wilhelmsruh was one of the few associations in the GDR that never changed its name, alongside Fortuna Biesdorf . Sporty Wilhelmsruh then disappeared into the lowlands of Berlin football.
In 1991 the name was changed to FC Concordia Wilhelmsruh . The Concordia has not yet managed to return to the higher-class Berlin and Brandenburg football. The current league has been the Berlin district league again since a temporary promotion (2015) and direct relegation (2016) to the regional league .
