The Bachelorette ( English "bachelor") is a television show that is broadcast on RTL . An attractive bachelorette should find a life partner in her. The Bachelorette is based on the American format The Bachelorette at ABC , which was first produced in 2003. So far (2018) 14 seasons have been produced in the USA and 6 seasons in Germany.

procedure

In group and individual dates, the bachelorette and the candidates get to know each other in a sophisticated environment. Until the winner is determined, the elimination rounds called "Night of the Roses" take place. For this purpose, the bachelorette usually hands over roses to her favorites at the end of a broadcast, combined with the question: "Will you accept this rose?" Since fewer roses are available than there are still candidates in the race, those admirers who are not offered a rose are eliminated at the end of the respective episode. By rejecting the rose, a participant can bring about his own departure.

First season

From November 10, 2004, an offshoot on RTL followed in Germany under the name Bachelorette - The dream woman with Monica Ivancan, then 27, in the title role as a bachelorette. In the season filmed in a villa on the Côte d'Azur , 25 men vied for the bachelor's favor in seven episodes. The winner was the then 32-year-old policeman Mark Quinkenstein. A three-week affair developed with him that ended long before the broadcast began. The format was initially discontinued due to decreasing audience numbers.

Second season

In August 2013, RTL announced that there would be a new edition in the summer of 2014 under the title The Bachelorette . The season aired from July 16 to August 27, 2014. Two weeks before the start, the musical performer Anna Christiana Hofbauer, born on June 7th, 1988 from Marktoberdorf , was announced as a bachelorette. Hofbauer was a replacement candidate for the model Susanne Schöne (Miss Saxony 2003; moderator at N24 since May 2015 ), who resigned from signing the contract at the end of March 2014 because she had been in a relationship in the meantime. In the seventh of the episodes filmed mainly in Portugal, the 26-year-old Marvin Albrecht, managing director of an advertising agency and model from Düsseldorf, received the last rose from 20 men. Hofbauer and Albrecht had been in a relationship since then and took part as a couple in the RTL dance show Stepping Out , which they won. In February 2017, Hofbauer announced the separation during a professional stay abroad. With the move from Berlin to Albrecht in Düsseldorf, she gave up her own life to be a housewife.
