The game association Zella-Mehlis 06 was a German football club from Zella-Mehlis in what is now the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen , which existed between 1906 and 1945.
society
The game association Zella-Mehlis was founded in 1906 under the name SC Germania 06 Mehlis . In 1924 the club merged with VfL Mehlis in 1909 (founded as TV 1909 Mehlis ) to form SpVgg Zella-Mehlis.
On a sporting level, the club operated in the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs , in which the championship of the Gaus West Thuringia was won three times. In the associated qualifications for the Central German finals, Zella-Mehlis failed prematurely in 1925/26 at SpVgg Erfurt . In 1928 the Thuringians reached the round of 16 via SC 06 Oberlind , but clearly failed at FC Viktoria Leipzig with 0: 5. In 1930/31 the SpVgg 06 failed again prematurely at SC Stadtilm .
Subsequently, the club no longer appeared in a higher class, participation in the Gauliga Mitte , founded in 1933, did not take place. In 1945 the SpVgg 06 Zella-Mehlis was dissolved. There was no re-establishment.
