history

FC 1910 Lößnitz drew national attention as early as the 1920s. In the seasons he participated in the championships of the soccer district Erzgebirge . After all previous sports clubs had to be dissolved at the instigation of the Soviet occupying forces in 1945, the football section of the company sports association Motor Lößnitz continued the city's football tradition. For years the district class (5th and 6th league) was the sporting home of the BSG. In 1957 and 1964 she won the district championship, but it wasn't until 1978 that she was promoted to the third-rate district league Karl-Marx-Stadt . Subsequently, the Lößnitzer managed to assert themselves in the district league until the end of the GDR soccer game in 1990.

In 1981 Motor Lößnitz became the district cup winner with a 2-1 final win over Progress Meerane . This qualified the team for the GDR-wide FDGB soccer cup competition 1981/82 and met in the first main round on the second-rate GDR league club Aufbau Krumhermersdorf . After a 1: 2 defeat, Lößnitz had to leave the competition immediately.

After German reunification, the company sports community had to be dissolved due to the economic changes. BSG members then founded SV 1847 Lößnitz in 1990, which continued the sports business of BSG Motor. The first football team started in the new Chemnitz district league in the 1990/91 season, it was initially the 4th, and a year later the 5th division in the DFB game operations . In 1993, the soccer department left SV 1847 and founded its own club, FC 1910 Lößnitz. Until 2002 the relegation in the district league, meanwhile 6th division, could be secured. In the summer of 2002, the first team had to relegate to the district class, but achieved immediate promotion to the district league, which was only the 8th division since 2008. In 2010, FC Lößnitz was promoted to the state class and in 2016 made it into the six-class Sachsenliga .
