The FSV Krumhermersdorf is a football club in the district Krumhermersdorf the city Zschopau in Saxony . The predecessor community BSG Aufbau Krumhermersdorf made the town, located 20 kilometers southeast of Chemnitz , known as the "GDR soccer village" in 1976/77 when its soccer team reached the second highest division in the GDR. The club has been called FSV Zschopau / Krumhermersdorf since the 2012/13 season.

Football beginnings

Football is a tradition in the village with fewer than 2000 inhabitants. On July 1, 1921, the Ring Krumhermersdorf football club was founded. With the help of the club members and the supporters of the soccer team, the community sports field was completed in 1927, which will serve as a venue for FC Ring in the future. Due to the sports club ban imposed by the occupying powers, the club had to be dissolved after the Second World War in 1945.

Company sports community between district and district league

In order to be able to continue to participate in sports traffic, which was initially permitted at the district level, athletes from Krumhermersdorfer founded the Krumhermersdorf sports community on August 24, 1945. A strong football team could be put together, which rose three times within three years and from 1948 played in the then second-class district class Chemnitz. With the introduction of the system of company sports associations (BSG) in East Germany, the sports community was transformed into the BSG Progress Krumhermersdorf, and the neighboring Zschopau colorful socks factory "Max Roscher" became the sponsoring company . Thanks to his support, the soccer team rose again in 1953 and now played in the district class Karl-Marx-Stadt, in GDR soccer the 4th league. After the rise, the BSG called itself progress Zschopau with reference to its sponsoring company. After another four years, progress had reached the third-class district league Karl-Marx-Stadt, but could no longer hold the class in the second year and had to play in the district class again from 1960. From 1963 the BSG, which was now called Progress Krumhermersdorf, constantly shuttled between the district and district classes, before being promoted to the district league again in 1969. In the meantime, the team had strengthened itself so that relegation could be permanently secured. Winning the district cup in 1972 led to the encounter progress Krumhermersdorf - FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the preliminary round of the GDR Cup competition . The Krumhermersdorfer lost 4-1 on November 11, 1972 in front of a record crowd of 4,500 spectators against the GDR runner-up on the hard court, which was quickly overtaken.

The football village in the 2nd division

Club coat of arms of the BSG dkk

In 1976 Krumhermersdorf celebrated a high point in its football history. The BSG Progress won the district championship and qualified for the second highest division of the GDR, the GDR League . The quality of the team was not enough, however, so that after the end of the season with the 11th and last place the relegation had to be accepted. In the new "Stadium of Construction Workers" inaugurated on July 29, 1978, three more years followed in the third division in the district league before Krumhermersdorf was again district champion in 1980. The BSG, renamed in Aufbau Krumhermersdorf a year earlier, qualified again for the GDR league. With the help of the experienced league players from FC Karl-Marx-Stadt Bernd Sachse and Frank Sorge, coaches Günter Messig and Wilfried Claus and, from 1982, Gerd Schädlich (25 league games at FCK) formed a team that in the 1980/81, 1981/82 , 1983/84 and 1984/85 could be represented in the second highest GDR league. 1983/84 Krumhermersdorf reached 3rd place, his best GDR league result. In the 22 league games, coach Schädlich had the following, on average, 25.8-year-old team:

Uwe Claus
(15 games / 23 years)
Ulrich Schuffenhauer (18/30)
Frank Sorge (20/36), Andreas Schneider (11/26), Uwe Arnold (19/28)
Mario Hunger (22/22), Jens Arnold (22/22), Andreas Welzl (22/25)
Jan Arnold (22/22), Bernd Sachse (20/28), Frank Seefeld (21/22)

In the successful season, 19,000 spectators came to the 6,000-seat construction workers' stadium. That's 1,770 spectators per game, about as many as Krumhermersdorf's inhabitants. The top game against the neighboring BSG Sachsenring Zwickau saw 5,000 spectators.

From 1985 onwards, with the cooling device factory dkk Scharfenstein, a new sponsoring company took over the funding of the BSG, which then renamed itself Aufbau dkk Krumhermersdorf. At the beginning of the 1984/85 season, the GDR league only played with two seasons instead of five. With the increased level Krumhermersdorf could no longer keep up and at the end of the season rose as 16th of 18 teams back into the district league. It then took four years before the team could qualify again for the GDR league. Following the qualification, a new formation to the BSG dkk Scharfenstein / Krumhermersdorf took place on August 1, 1989. The team of the previous BSG Motor Scharfenstein and from summer 1988 BSG dkk Scharfenstein had played several seasons in the third-rate district league in the early 1980s and also met BSG Aufbau Krumhermersdorf. Now the existing player potential was bundled, the previous 1st team from Scharfenstein now entered the district class as BSG dkk Scharfenstein / Krumhermersdorf II. In the last season of the GDR league in 1989/90 before the takeover by the DFB game operations, the BSG dkk reached 16th place again.

Former and later GDR league players

In the 1970s and 1980s there was a lively change of players to or from the GDR Oberliga, in which the neighboring FC Karl-Marx-Stadt was involved in most cases:

FSV Krumhermersdorf

When the cooling device factory stopped funding the BSG as a result of the economic changes after the political change in 1989, the just under a year old BSG dkk Scharfenstein / Krumhermersdorf dissolved on July 1, 1990 and all teams were logged off from the game. The new club FSV Krumhermersdorf was founded in 1991 to absorb the youth teams. In the 1991/92 season, the FSV started in the 2nd district class with a newly formed men's team. With a car dealership as the main sponsor, the association achieved a healthy economic base. The sixth-class district league was reached as early as 1994, where the team sometimes played in the top field in the following years. When the neighboring Zschopauer FC broke up in 2005 , the Krumhermersdorfer were able to take over numerous players and thus achieved promotion to the Saxony State League at the end of the season. After only one season, the team was relegated to the district league. There she was able to hold out until the 2011/12 season. Then followed the descent into the district league and a year later in the district league. Since then, the team has been commuting between the district league and the district league.
