Frank Sorge (born June 6, 1947 in Rödlitz ) is a former German football player.

Frank Sorge started playing football in his native Rödlitz. In April 1965 he came to FC Karl-Marx-Stadt . At the age of 20 he made the leap into the team of the reigning GDR champions. He played his first league game during the eighth game day on October 14, 1967 at home against 1. FC Union Berlin (3-2).

He played in midfield at the beginning of his league career. Sorge was later used as a defender. For his style of play, Sorge, who in the meantime also wore the captain's armband of the FCK, was nicknamed "Eisenfuß". Until the end of his career he played in the position of libero and pre-stopper.

Frank Sorge played his last league game on the penultimate matchday of the 1980/81 season on May 23, 1981 at Sachsenring Zwickau (0: 1). After half-time he was substituted for Gerd Pelz . Between 1967 and 1981 Sorge completed a total of 272 league games (28 goals). He was also used once in a young GDR international match. Sorge was the coach at FSV Krumhermersdorf .

In the course of the insolvency of Chemnitzer FC , Frank Sorge was appointed by the Chemnitz District Court on May 17, 2019, together with the lawyer Annette Neuerburg, to the CFC emergency board with a term of office until August 31, 2019. Shortly before the end of the term of office, Sorge announced that he would no longer be available for another engagement in the emergency board.
