Chemnitz District Court

The Chemnitz District and Family Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of a total of 30 district and family courts in the Free State of Saxony .

Seat and District of the Court

The judicial district of the Chemnitz District Court covers the area of ​​the city of Chemnitz ( Section 1, Paragraph 4, Annex No. 5 of the Saxon Justice Act). The seat of the court is in Chemnitz, Rechtsstrasse 2.

Superior courts

The Chemnitz Regional Court is superordinate to the Chemnitz District Court . The Dresden Higher Regional Court and the Federal Court of Justice are superordinate in the next instance .

The Chemnitz District Court is - along with the Dresden and Leipzig District Courts - one of the three presidential district courts in Saxony. Supervision of the Chemnitz District Court as a judicial administrative authority (ie non-judicial activity) is therefore incumbent on the President of the Dresden Higher Regional Court. The supervisory authority of all other local courts is the president of the respective local regional court and then the president of the higher regional court.
