society
The SC Herta Wittenberge was founded in 1909 under the name FC Herta Wittenberge , but was renamed SC Herta in 1920 . In 1922 the club briefly merged with MTV Germania in 1898 to form TSV Wittenberge , the merger was dissolved again in 1924.
On a sporting level, the club acted analogously to the local rivals Singer Wittenberge or Minerva Wittenberge in the championship of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (Gau Altmark), the finals of which were reached a total of four times. In the 1916/17 and 1917/18 seasons, Herta failed at Magdeburg FC Viktoria 1896 . In 1924/25 the club was able to qualify for the Central German round of 16 through FC Salzwedel 09 , but was defeated by the clearly favored FC Wacker Halle with 2:12. In the following season, after a 3-2 win over VfB 07 Klötze , Herta once again reached the round of 16 and lost 5-2 to Viktoria Zerbst .
In the following period, the club no longer appeared in a higher class, and any participation in the Gauliga Mitte did not take place. In 1945 Herta Wittenberge was dissolved, the later founded CM Veritas Wittenberge is not a direct successor club.
