The Association for Movement Games 07 Klötze eV , or VfB 07 Klötze for short, is a sports club in the Altmarkstadt Klötze . It offers numerous sports and has more than 700 members. The sports facilities of the municipal Geschwister-Scholl-Stadium in the southeast of the city are available to VfB.

history

The VfB was founded on June 29, 1907. It survived both world wars before it was dissolved in 1945 as part of the ban on associations initiated by the Soviet occupying power. After that, the sports business was continued in a loosely organized sports community. After sports were reorganized from 1948 in East Germany on the basis of company sports associations (BSG), the state administration companies in the city of Klötze founded the BSG unit Klötze. In the course of the reorganization of sport in the city, the BSG was renamed first in 1959 to "Aufbau" (supporting company of the construction industry) and in 1960 to BSG "Traktor" Klötze (supporting company agricultural production cooperative). The main sport was soccer, but it did not go beyond the district league framework. After the political change in 1990 economic reasons ended the system of company sports associations in the GDR. Former BSG members founded VfB Klötze 07 in Klötze on August 8, 1990. Above all, it became a focus of weight training. The weightlifters of VfB became German champions in 2007, they took part in both European and world championships.

Current situation

As of 2008, VfB is offering eight sports in football, handball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton, weight training, gymnastics, hiking and darts. The strength athletes are represented in the Bundesliga, the soccer women play in the national class, the table tennis players in the district league. The current membership is given as 776 men and women.

Development of the sport of football

Between 1925 and 1929 VfB Klötze took part in the Central German State Championship four times, but was always eliminated in the preliminary round, mostly after major defeats, e.g. B. 1929: FV Fortuna Magdeburg - VfB Klötze 13: 1. After that, the club no longer appeared nationwide. Even after 1945, the BSG unit was below the level of the third and fourth class district league . It was not until the 1957 season that they were promoted to the Magdeburg district league, which was fourth at the time. The district league, third-rate from 1963, could be held via the successor BSG Aufbau und Traktor. In 1968, the BSG tractor had to relegate to the district class as penultimate in the table. After that there was a constant ups and downs between fourth and third class, until the BSG Traktor was able to establish itself again for ten seasons in the district league from 1973. In 1984 there was another relegation to the district class, after which the district league was no longer achieved until the end of GDR football.

In 1966, 1979 and 1981, Traktor Klötze won the district soccer cup and qualified for the GDR-wide FDGB soccer cup that followed . While the second-rate local rival Lok Stendal was eliminated in the first round in 1979 , Klötze had to retire immediately after the first appearance in 1966 and 1981.

    • District finals: Tractor Klötze - Empor Tangermünde 1: 0
    • FDGB-Pokal: Tractor Klötze - 1.FC Magdeburg 0: 2

    • FDGB-Cup: Tractor Klötze - BSG Stahl Thale 0: 4

Even in DFB game operations from 1991 onwards, the first men's team of VfB 07 Klötze did not get beyond the district level for a long time. It was not until the 2008/2009 season that VfB was promoted to the Saxony-Anhalt state class. The club is a DFB base . In 2008, VfB took part in the game with two men's teams and five junior teams. The women's team played in the state class Saxony-Anhalt in the 2008/09 season.
