history

Crossen was an independent municipality until 1996. As early as the 1920s, the town of around 2500 inhabitants had its own football club, the 1919 Crossen football ring. After the Second World War, the previous sports clubs were dissolved, and company sports associations (BSG) were created later . The BSG Rotation was founded in Crossen. When SDAG Wismut relocated uranium ore processing to Crossen in the 1960s , the Soviet-German company joined the company sports community, which was then called BSG Wismut / Rotation Crossen. In addition to football, she also had sections for other sports, e.g. B. Athletics. At the end of the 1970s, the Wismut-AG took over the BSG in sole management and the term rotation disappeared from the BSG name. In 1989, as a result of the political change, Wismut closed the processing plant and the BSG lost its economic base. After the founding of sports clubs became possible again in 1990, BSG members founded the gymnastics and sports club Crossen eV on July 6, 1990

Development of the sport of football

The football ring Crossen played between 1925 and 1928 in the II-A class of the Gau Westsachsen and in 1931/32 in the 1b class in the Gau Westsachsen. Despite the defeat of the club after the Second World War, Crossen football players were already playing against neighboring teams again in 1946. After the start of an orderly game operation in East Germany, the BSG rotation initially did not go beyond the district class level. It was not until the 1960s that they were promoted to the fourth-class district class Karl-Marx-Stadt for a few seasons. After relegation in 1969, he returned to the district class in 1975 and strengthened the team with the help of the bismuth carrier company. Within a year, Wismut / Rotation rose to the third-class district league Karl-Marx-Stadt .

In addition, on June 5, 1976, after a 2-1 win against Stahl Olbernhau, the district soccer cup was won. As a result, the BSG Wismut / Rotation qualified for the GDR-wide FDGB soccer cup competition 1976/77. In the first round, Crossen had to face the second division FSV Lok Dresden . The home game was lost 2-0, and so Crossen was eliminated from the cup competition after his first appearance.

Until 1989, Crossen was a fixture in the district league and was supported financially by the Wismut AG. This made it possible to bring experienced league players from the neighboring BSG Sachsenring Zwickau to Crossen. The 137-time league player Heinz Krieger became a coach, and the former league players Ludwig Blank , Ralf Schneider, Dieter Schubert , Hans Speth and Heinz Hergert from Jena ended their careers in Crossen. After the 1988/89 season, the district league team disintegrated due to numerous departures and was withdrawn from the game. Only the previous 2nd team continued to compete in the district class.

The newly founded TSV also began in the Zwickauer Land district class. In 1993 the TSV qualified for the newly established regional league Westsachsen and in 1996 it was promoted to the Chemnitz regional class, at that time the 7th league. Crossen played there for two years, after relegation in 1998 the team disbanded again for financial reasons, and a fresh start had to be started again with the 2nd team. She had previously played in the 2nd district class and now took over the place in the district league. At the end of the 1998/99 season, the team rose with only four points achieved in the 1st district class. In 2001 a completely newly formed team managed to return to the Westsachsen district league, in 2007 TSV moved up to the Chemnitz district class, which has been the 8th league since 2008. At the same time, the TSV team won 3-1 against SG 48 Schönfels won the district cup in front of 437 spectators. In the 2002/2003 season, TSV also sent a second representative into the race. She has meanwhile climbed twice and is a member of the 1st district class. The club is currently trying to establish itself in the district class in the medium term. Another novelty is that TSV head coach Andreas Bachmann is going into his 10th season in 2009/2010. A fact that is now looking for its mark and stands for the perseverance of the association.
