The FC Eintracht Leipzig (from 1920 SV Eintracht ) was a German football club from Leipzig , which existed from 1904 to 1945. Home was the Eintracht sports park at the Raschwitz forest house. The facility, inaugurated in 1910, offered 15,000 spectators and was built over after the Second World War. The Eintracht soccer teams have been playing on the sports field on the Neue Linie since 1938.

society

Eintracht Leipzig was founded in 1904 and was one of the founding members of the New Leipzig Football Association . Subsequently, the Saxons acted in the championship of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs . In the seasons 1915 and 1915/16 as well as 1916/17, Eintracht briefly broke through the dominance of the large Leipzig clubs of VfB Leipzig , Wacker Leipzig and SpVgg 1899 Leipzig in the Gau Leipzig / Northwest Saxony . In 1915, Eintracht won the championship of the district of North West Saxony which, due to the First World War, was only held with one neutral round (11: 3 points). In 1915/16 the club reached 1st place with 26: 2 points with only one defeat (0: 1 VfB Leipzig), clearly ahead of FC Fortuna Leipzig and VfB Leipzig. In 1916/17 the third championship in a row succeeded with one point ahead of VfB. The greatest success in the club's history was winning the Central German Championship in 1916, in which Eintracht Leipzig prevailed against SC 1903 Weimar and Dresden SC against Borussia Halle . As Central German champions, Eintracht would also have qualified for the final round of the German championship, but this did not take place due to the First World War . Until 1933, Eintracht continued to play in the 1st class of the Gau Nordwestsachsen (highest possible league) and mostly achieved top positions without being able to intervene in the championship. In the Gauliga Sachsen introduced in 1933, Eintracht could never rise. They played in the Leipzig district class (2nd division) until 1945. After 1945 the association was dissolved. There was no re-establishment. Since 1990, SV Eintracht Leipzig-Süd has been playing at Südkampfbahn / Raschwitzer Straße .
