Borussia Halle was founded in 1902 under the name Spvgg. Borussia 02 Halle . The Borussia competed within the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs in the Saalegau championship. The greatest success in the club's history was reaching the final of the Central German Championship 1915/16, in which Borussia Halle lost 4-0 to FC Eintracht Leipzig after victories over Wacker Helbra , Viktoria Magdeburg and Wacker Gotha .
In 1929 the people of Halle qualified again for the Central German finals. After a 3-1 win against the Saxon representative SpVgg Falkenstein, Borussia lost 0-1 in the quarterfinals of SpVgg Erfurt .
In the Central German Cup in 1929, the club was subject to the clearly favored CBC of 1899 prematurely, in the following year Halle reached the semi-finals via the SC 06 Oberlind against Wacker Leipzig . In the period that followed, the club did not play a higher-class role in Central German football, and in 1944/45 Borussia played again briefly in the Gauliga Mitte .
