The Zittauer BC was a German football club based in Zittau in today's district of Görlitz .

history

The team first appeared in the 1911/12 season of the Central German Football Championship in the Gau Oberlausitz . In the first season the team ended up in second place in the group with 8: 4 points. During the 1912/13 season, Zittau withdrew on October 20, 1912. Thereupon one achieved victory and one defeat was annulled. At the end of the 1913/14 season , the club landed again in second place. Due to the war , the club did not participate in the game operation in the following season . In the following season there was no more games in Oberlausitz . At the end of the 1916/17 season , in which it came back to a game operation, the club landed one more time in second place in the table. This placement was repeated in the 1917/18 season. In the following season there was again no game operation in Upper Lusatia due to the war.

In the 1923/24 season , Zittau was then able to become Gaumeister for the first time and thus took part in the final round of the Central German Football Championship. In the first round the team lost 4-0 against SV Brandenburg Dresden . In the following season, the club was then again Gaumeister but then failed again in the first round . This time against Guts Muts Dresden with 1: 9. After the 1925/26 season it was only enough for the sixth place on the table with 12:16 points. At the end of the 1926/27 season , the team was once again Gaumeister, but then failed again in the first preliminary round at Riesaer SV 4-0. The next season was similar, the team was again Gaumeister and failed in the first first preliminary round at Dresdner SC with 9: 4. After the 1928/29 season it was then in the final against FC Sportfreunde Leipzig , this game was then lost 5-0. Again after the 1929/30 season there was a 2: 5 defeat against SV Sturm Chemnitz . Due to the fourth place, Zittau could not qualify again for the finals after the 1930/31 season. In the following season 1931/32 the third place was at least with 24:12 points. The team then finished in fourth place with 20:16 points.

After this season, the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) was disbanded as the carrier of the championship and all clubs from Upper Lusatia were incorporated into the football region of Saxony . The Zittauer BC never rose to the first division and was then dissolved at some point.
