history

Historical logo

FV Dresden 06 Laubegast was founded in May 1906 as SV Pretoria Dresden . As a result, the Saxons made two name changes, in the founding year 1906 first in FK Habsburg Dresden , in 1914 then in VfR Habsburg Dresden and on May 8, 1918 in Dresdner SV 06 . In the 1919/20 season, the club from Laubegast achieved the greatest success in the club's history by winning the championship in the Gau Ostsachsen. In the associated qualification for the Central German Championship , the DSV 06 was able to prevail in the first round against the Central Saxon champions National 1900 Chemnitz with 2: 1, but failed at the later Central German champions VfB Leipzig . In 1928 the Dresdeners reached the quarter-finals in the Central German Cup, in which they lost 0-5 to Fortuna Leipzig .

In 1945 the Dresdner SV 06, which had to cease playing in 1939 due to the war, was banned and dissolved. It was re-established as SG Laubegast . In the period that followed, the association faced another name change, in 1949 to BSG Zeiss Ikon Dresden , 1951 to BSG Motor Dresden-Ost and from 1965 to BSG Pentacon Dresden . In terms of sport, the Dresdeners could not establish themselves in high-class football in the GDR.

On July 1, 1990, the BSG Pentacon Dresden became SV Praktica Dresden . After the sponsoring company withdrew, the soccer department of SV Praktica Dresden started its own business on December 13, 1990 as FV Dresden 06 Laubegast . On a sporting level, the Dresden team won the championship in the Landesliga Sachsen in the 2001/02 season . In the Oberliga Nordost , Laubegast was able to hold a total of three seasons. In 2005 he was relegated to the regional league and finally in 2009 he was relegated to the regional league, today's national class. After 11 years in the state class, Laubegast was the first in the table to be promoted to the Sachsenliga, the 6th division, in 2020 after a corona-related end of the season.

FV Dresden 06 Laubegast received national attention from the Elbe flood in 2002 , when the entire club area was flooded.
