The namesake of the Queen Luise Route: Luise von Mecklenburg-Strelitz

The Queen Luise Route is a German holiday route . It leads through Berlin , Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , past places that are reminiscent of the life and work of Queen Luise of Prussia .

The route starts at Hohenzieritz Palace, ends with the mausoleum in the park of Charlottenburg Palace , and Queen Luise's resting place.

The Queen Luise Route was initiated by the Friends of Hohenzieritz Castle , which maintains a memorial in the Mecklenburg town of Hohenzieritz . The theme street roughly follows the route that Queen Luise's coffin took from Hohenzieritz to Berlin in 1810. Partners in the project are the administration of the state palaces and gardens ( Schwerin ), the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg as well as museums, municipalities, districts and associations along the route. By 2010, the year of the 200th anniversary of Queen Luise's death, the holiday route was completely expanded. The memorials along the route, such as those in Neustrelitz , Mirow and Paretz, have been accepting visitors and promoting the route since 2006 .
