The Zwickauer SC was a German football club from Zwickau that existed from 1902 to 1949. The club acted in the championship of the Gau West Saxony .

society

Zwickauer SC was founded in 1902 under the name Zwickauer Sportclub . The ZSC competed within the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs in the championship of the Gau West Saxony. The greatest successes in the club's history was the four times won West Saxon championship, in which Zwickau was able to prevail against Konkordia Plauen and VfB Glauchau .

In the final round of the Central German Championship, the West Saxony failed prematurely against the clearly favored clubs of Chemnitzer BC 1899 , VfB Leipzig , SpVgg 1899 Leipzig and Viktoria Zerbst .

In the period that followed, the club no longer played a higher-class role in Central German football. Any participation in the Gauliga Sachsen introduced in 1933 , in which Zwickau failed in West Saxony at the SpVgg Falkenstein , did not take place.

In 1945 the Zwickauer SC was dissolved and re-established as SG Zwickau-Mitte . Large parts of the sports community merged in 1949 with players from Aktivist Zwickau and SG Zwickau-Nord to form ZSG Horch Zwickau .
