The FC Preußen Burg was a German football club from Burg in today's Jerichower Land district , which existed from 1902 to 1945. Home of the club was the sports field at the Bismarck tower .
Athletic career
Prussia Castle was founded in 1902 under the name Burger FC Preußen , no further name changes were made until the club was dissolved. The club acted within the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs in the championships of the Gau Mittelelbe . On a sporting level, the club was clearly overshadowed by the larger Magdeburg clubs FuCC Cricket-Viktoria 1897 and FC Viktoria 1896 . The Prussians did not succeed in qualifying for the Central German finals until 1933.
In the 1943/44 season, Preußen Burg rose again briefly to the Gauliga Mitte together with KSG Reichsbahn / VfL Merseburg , but was only able to finish the season with just eight points. In 1945 the FC Prussia was dissolved, a re-establishment in the form of a sports community was no longer carried out in the SBZ , in contrast to the Burger BC 08 .
