The SV 1899 Mühlhausen is a German sports club from Mühlhausen / Thuringia in the Unstrut-Hainich district . The club is active in athletics, soccer, volleyball, fencing, boxing, disabled sports, gymnastics, darts, badminton and capoeria.
history
In 1899 the FC Germania 1899 Mühlhausen was founded. FC Germania was a founding member of the DFB and, along with SC Erfurt 1895, is one of the oldest football clubs in Thuringia. In 1918 Germania merged with Teutonia in 1901 to form SV 1899 . With the end of the Second World War , the association was dissolved and initially not re-established.
New clubs were founded in 1972 and was created by a merger of the BSG post of BSG Motor , the BSG Union Mulhouse . 1989/90 the team played in Season B of the GDR League . After the reunification, the name was changed to SV Union Mühlhausen . In 1994 the Union merged with Fitness 90 up to SV 1899 Mühlhausen .
In 1997, the football department spun off from the entire club under the name FC Union Mühlhausen . SV 1899 is still actively playing football, but in lower leagues. In the 2011/12 season, the club played in the second lowest division of the Thuringian Football Association , the 2nd district class Unstrut-Hainich. In the meantime (2016), however, only teams in the junior division that compete in the U15 regional league are active.
