The Hallesche SV 1898 was a German football club from Halle (Saale) that existed from 1898 to 1945. Home of the club was the Merseburger Strasse sports complex .

Hallesche SV 1898 was founded in 1898 under the name FC Hohenzollern Halle , and in 1918 it was renamed SV Halle 1898 again . The club operated within the championship of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs , in which SV Halle reached the Central German finals once in the 1921/22 season. The Central German championship ended with fourth place after winning the Saale-Gau. Best performance in the Central German Cup in the 1926/27 season was reaching the quarter-finals, in which SV Halle lost 2-0 to SC Apolda .
With the introduction of the Gauligen in 1933, the SV Halle could no longer qualify for the Gauliga middle until the end of the war , the SVH always acted in the following period. In 1945 the club was dissolved. It was not until 1950 that a new establishment was re-established on Merseburger Strasse under the name BSG Einheit Halle .
