FC Sportlust Zittau was a soccer club from Zittau , which existed between 1909 and 1945. He was represented in the Gauliga Sachsen for one season . The club was called Zittauer BK 09 between 1909 and 1912 .

history

On August 5, 1909, the club was founded under the name Zittauer BK 09 and in 1912 it was renamed FC Sportlust Zittau or Sportlust Zittau for short . The club was able to achieve its greatest success under this name. In the 1932/33 season Sportlust Zittau won the Gauliga Oberlausitz of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs . This qualified the team for the Central German soccer championship 1932/33 . The club started in the first round and met Wacker Leipzig . They lost the game 2: 3.

In the 1941/42 season you qualified as a master of the Dresden district class for the promotion round to the Gauliga Sachsen . There you met BC Hartha , Wacker Leipzig and Konkordia Plauen . Together with BC Hertha, they secured promotion to the Gauliga Sachsen. In the 1942/43 season you could not establish yourself in the Gauliga Sachsen and rose directly from the Gauliga with one win and 17 defeats. After the Second World War , the Sportlust Zittau club, like all other clubs, was dissolved.

Successor clubs

Due to the continuity of actors and play area, the SG Zittau is the unofficial successor club of Sportlust Zittau . After several renaming, the club played under the name BSG Lokomotive Zittau in the 1962/63 season in the II. GDR League . In addition, the club played under the name BSG Robur Zittau in the 1978/79 season and the 1981/82 season in the GDR league . After reunification, VfB Zittau succeeded BSG Robur Zittau in terms of football. The VfB Zittau played between 1999 and 2002 in the Oberliga Northeast .
