The Central German Football Championship 1905/06 of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) was the fifth season of the Central German Football Championship . This year's championship was held in several regional Gauligen, the winners of which met in the final round. The final between VfB Leipzig and Dresdner SC was not played because Dresden did not take part in the final due to an unsuccessful protest against the venue Leipzig. Therefore, the game was rated for VfB Leipzig. With this success Leipzig qualified for the German soccer championship 1905/06 . After victories over BFC Norden-Nordwest and BFC Hertha , the club reached the final. The final game of the German soccer championship against 1. FC Pforzheim , which took place on May 27, 1906 , Leipzig won 2: 1 and thus became German soccer champions for the second time .

With the final shot of associations Association Magdeburg ball game clubs , association Dresdner ball game clubs , association Leipziger ball game clubs , Chemnitzer football clubs and association Thuringian football clubs were created new districts. The clubs in the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs were divided into six districts (Gaue) this season, with the exception of the Gaumeister Saales and Thuringia, the respective winners qualified for the Central German football championship. The Gaue Saale and Thuringia only functioned as a lower class league. The Plauener Ballspielvereine association was not yet a member of the VMBV and was only accepted for the coming season.

Championship finals

The championship finals took place in the knockout system . The masters of the four Gaue Middle Elbe, Central Saxony, North West Saxony and East Saxony were qualified. After the second semi-final did not take place because the Chemnitzer BC had not competed, the final was not decided in terms of sport either. Since the Dresdner SC refused to compete in Leipzig against VfB Leipzig , VfB Leipzig was declared the winner and Central German champion.
