Association of Chemnitz Football Clubs

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Association of Chemnitz Football Associations (VCFV) was a local football association for the Saxon city of Chemnitz. The VCFV was founded on August 8, 1903 by the clubs Chemnitzer BC , FC Vorwärts, FC Reunion and FC Hohenzollern.

In the championship in the first season 1903/04 these four clubs participated with their first and second teams in two classes. In the following 1904/05 season, Chemnitz BC 1899 already took part in the championship of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs (VMBV) in Gau II with clubs from Dresden and Mittweida. Six teams in 1st class (2nd league) including the top team from Chemnitzer BC, and in 2nd class, five second teams took part in the league matches of the Chemnitz Football Association.

For the 1905/06 season, the VMBV formed a new Gau (III) with southwest Saxony for the member clubs from Mittweida, Chemnitz, Plauen and the surrounding area. The Chemnitzer BC moved to this new district, in addition, the FC Vorwärts Chemnitz was included in this top division. Furthermore, a second class was formed in South West Saxony with eight clubs, in which six clubs from Chemnitz were classified, and a third class with three lower teams. Due to the formation of the new Gaus Südwestsachsen, the Chemnitz Football Association must probably have dissolved in the summer of 1905.
