Association of Plauener Ballspielvereine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Plauener Ballspielvereine (VPB) was a local football association in the Saxon city of Plauen . The VPB was founded on June 25, 1905 in order to offer previously unorganized local clubs a regular game opportunity.

In the 1905/06 season the Verband Mitteldeutscher Ballspiel-Vereine (VMBV) expanded its own gaming operations and added another to the two southern districts I (Leipzig / Halle) and II (Dresden / Chemnitz / Mittweida) with Gau III Südwestsachsen added. The Dresden clubs remained in Gau II, while Mittweida and Chemnitz moved to the new Gau. The largest club in Plauen, the 1. Vogtland FC, was added . Originally the 1st VFC was supposed to take part in the league games of the Plauener Ballspielvereine, but then took the opportunity to compete with stronger clubs in the region and took part in the championship of the VMBV.

Members of the Plauener Ballspielvereine were FC Apelles , FC Britannia, FC Germania, FC Sachsen, VfB, FC Victoria and the 1st VFC, which only participated with its reserve teams. The championship was played in three divisions. The first teams played in the A class, with the exception of VfB Plauen (B class) and FC Victoria Plauen (C class). All A-Class games took place on the 1st Vogtländer FC pitch, and the other pitches probably didn't meet the minimum requirements. It was unusual that at that time they only played 40 minutes twice in Plauen, which had long been abolished in other associations.

Very few results were reported. In mid-December, FC Sachsen Plauen was disqualified until September 1, 1906 for "repeated, apparent offenses against the statutes".

For the 1906/07 season, the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs in Gau III Southwest Saxony and Vogtland formed a new sub-district under the 1st division. Of the member clubs that took part in the 1905/06 championship of the VPB, only FC Germania Plauen switched to this new division, as did two other Plauen clubs.

In order to lure the member clubs of the VPB into the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs, the clubs were given a special offer. Instead of the usual "poll tax" (association tax per club member), the clubs should only pay a third of this amount. On February 5, 1907, the Plauener Ballspielvereine joined the VMBV with its nine member clubs. It is not known whether the VPB held its own championship in the 1906/07 season. In 1907/08 the sub-district Vogtland was converted into its own Gau, so that the master could also take part in the final round of the championship of the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs.
