The VfR 1897 Breslau (full name club for lawn games 1897 Breslau ) was a football club from Breslau . Its original name was SV Blitz Breslau .
history
The SV Blitz Breslau was founded on April 1st, 1897 by former members of the Blitz Breslau cycling club. In 1900 the club was one of the 86 founding members of the German Football Association . On August 26, 1901, the SC Schlesien Breslau split off.
Since 1903 the SV Blitz belonged to the Association of Breslauer Ballspiel-Vereine and since 1906 to the Southeast German Football Association . On May 2, 1907, the club was renamed Association for Lawn Game 1897 Breslau .
VfR Breslau won the Wroclaw City Championship in 1908, 1909 and 1910. In 1908 and 1910 he was also able to become Southeast German master. In 1908, the club met Wacker Leipzig in the quarter-finals of the German championship and lost 3-1. In 1910 the club lost 1: 2 to the Berlin representative Tasmania Rixdorf in the quarter-finals of the German championship . There were no further major sporting successes in the period that followed.
In 1934, VfR Breslau was merged with SC Schlesien to form VfR Schlesien 1897 Breslau , which in turn expired in 1945.
Venue
The place on Kürassierstraße has been handed down as the venue for VfR Breslau . This sports field existed until the 2000s and is now built over.
