Carlos Rebelo de Andrade

Carlos Rebelo de Andrade (born March 18, 1887 in Lisbon , † 1971 ) was a Portuguese architect.

Career

During the time of the Estado Novo, Andrade created numerous public buildings, especially together with his brother Guilherme . He designed the Portuguese pavilion for the World Exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro in 1922 and in Seville in 1929. From 1939 the monumental fountain Fonte Luminosa was built in Lisbon . He is also the author of the Beira (Mozambique) urban development plan .

In 1939 he and his brother were awarded the Prémio Valmor for the residential building Avenida Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, n.º 52 in Lisbon .
