Hermann Zondek
Hermann Zondek (born September 4, 1887 in Wronke , Posen Province , † July 11, 1979 in Jerusalem ) was a doctor .
Life
Hermann Zondek studied at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . In 1912 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. In 1918 he completed his habilitation in internal medicine , was appointed associate professor in 1922 and taught at the 1st Medical Clinic and Polyclinic of the Charité .
In 1926 he was appointed medical director and head of the I. Internal Department of the Am Urban Municipal Hospital . Politicians such as Gustav Stresemann and Kurt von Schleicher were also among his patients . On March 12, 1933, because of his Jewish descent, he was one of the first to be thrown from the post by the National Socialists . He fled to England via Zurich and emigrated to Palestine in 1934 .
Hermann Zondek's brother was the gynecologist Bernhard Zondek .
