Johann Nordmann
Johann Nordmann (born Rumpelmayer , pseudonym from 1866; born March 13, 1820 in Landersdorf (municipality of Krems) , Lower Austria ; † August 20, 1887 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist and travel writer .
Pioneer of tourism journalism
In his columnist “Sunday booklet” with the subtitle: I come from the mountains! For Burgenland he arranged the sketches made at different times geographically in such a way that the hiker starts from Vienna and therefore takes its immediate surroundings into account. The fourth feature section is the sketch from June 19, 1864: Am Neusiedlersee .
Nordmann was a child of his time, he was already Railway - traveler , in which of stagecoaches - romance was nothing more to find. He took the train to the Burgenland border , to a station before Bruck an der Leitha . From Wilfleinsdorf he continued on foot, over the Leithabrücke to Kaisersteinbruch and over the Leithagebirge .
His thoughts affect the political tensions between the then so closely united countries, that this side and the other side did not sound so threatening der Leitha ...

The journey home was no longer a hike, but a shaking carriage ride on a cart , on which he drove to Bruck, shaken badly.
