Kasai Zenzō
Kasai Zenzō ( Japanese 葛西 善 蔵 ; * January 16, 1887 , † July 23, 1928 ) was a Japanese writer and journalist.
As an author, Kasai was influenced by Japanese naturalism. In his "first-person novels" ( Shishōsetsu ) he describes poverty, illness and loneliness. The narrator of his most famous novel Ko o tsurete (With the children by the hand) wanders the streets homeless and destitute after he has lost his apartment. Other novels are Kanachiki chichi (1912), Akuma (1912) and Kohan Shuki (1924).
