Peter Christel Asmussen

Peter Christel Asmussen (born November 18, 1887 in Elmshorn ; † December 1, 1959 there ) was a German politician of the FDP .

Life and work

Asmussen was co-owner of the baker's yeast and spirits factory "Gebrüder Asmussen GmbH & Co. KG" in Elmshorn, which was family-owned until the end of 2008.

Political party

During the Weimar Republic , Asmussen belonged to the DDP . After the Second World War, he initially participated in the Democratic Union of former DVP member Carl Schröter , in which he was deputy chairman. After Schröter succeeded in joining the DU to the CDU in the British zone in February 1946 , Asmussen was one of the founders of the FDP in Schleswig-Holstein in March 1946 , of which he became the first state chairman. After the election defeat in the first state election on April 20, 1947 , in which the FDP was not in theWas able to move into the Landtag , he resigned, but was elected honorary chairman of the Liberals in the northernmost state. His successor was Fritz Oellers , who belonged to the right wing of the party .

Asmussen belonged from April 11, 1946 to the two appointed state parliaments of Schleswig-Holstein after the Second World War.
