Werner Zywietz (born May 21, 1940 in Saleschen , East Prussia ) is a German businessman and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

Zywietz was born the son of a farmer. After graduating from high school Stormarnschule in Ahrensburg , he completed an internship in banking and financial administration, then did military service in the armed forces and was later appointed major in the reserve. He began studying business administration at the University of Hamburg , which he completed with an examination for a degree in business administration. During his studies he was deputy chairman of the AStA in 1963/64 . He also completed stays abroad, including in England , France and India . In 1969 he took up a job as a commercial clerk at Esso AG in Hamburg .

Political party

Zywietz has been a member of the FDP since 1964 . From 1964 to 1966 he was a member of the state executive committee of the German Young Democrats in Schleswig-Holstein. Zywietz was elected to the state board of the FDP Schleswig-Holstein in 1970 and held the office of state chairman of his party from April 1983 to April 1985. In 1988 he was again elected deputy state chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein Liberals.

MP

From 1966 to 1972 Zywietz was a member of the Stormarn district council . He was a member of the German Bundestag from the Bundestag election from 1972 to 1983 and from the Bundestag election from 1987 to 1994. He was always drawn into parliament via the state list of the FDP Schleswig-Holstein. During his time as a member of parliament, he was the energy policy spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group. Together with his personal assistant Hermann Ayen, he worked on several bills such as the heating oil labeling law. In 1984 he was elected to the FDP federal executive committee and was a member of it until 1986.

Zywietz was also a member of the European Parliament from 1977 to 1979 .
