Jens Ruge

Jens Ruge (born August 4, 1938 in Kiel ; † August 1, 2015 there ) was a German administrative lawyer and politician of the FDP .

Life

After graduating from high school in Plön in 1959 , Ruge studied political science and law and in 1961 joined the Liberal Student Union , of which he was state chairman in Schleswig-Holstein . He completed his legal clerkship in Schleswig-Holstein. In 1964 he became a member of the FDP. In 1969 he became a civil servant and worked, among other things, in the Ministry of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein. In 1974 he was elected to the district council of the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district, to which he belonged until 1986.

In 1975 he entered the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament via the FDP state list . Ruge was re-elected in 1979. At the end of the 1983 legislative period, he left the state parliament, but was again represented in the state parliament in 1987/1988. During this time he was a member of the Barschel / Pfeiffer investigative committee that investigated the Barschel affair . In 1988 the FDP Schleswig-Holstein elected him state chairman; In 1989 Wolfgang Kubicki replaced him as chairman.

In 2006, Ruge was elected regional chairman of the European Union in Schleswig-Holstein.

He died on the night of August 2, 2015 after a serious illness, a few days before his 77th birthday.
