Karl Alfred Kihn (born October 20, 1887 in Großauheim ; † May 10, 1976 in Würzburg ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

Karl Kihn, son of the doctor Karl Kihn, studied law at the universities of Würzburg and Munich from 1907 to 1911 after graduating from high school in Aschaffenburg . In 1907 he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Thuringia Würzburg in the CV . In 1911 he passed the first state examination, completed his clerkship and became a doctor of law doctorate . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . Kihn passed the second state examination in law in 1919, then entered the administrative service as a civil servant and was a member of the government in the Main-Spessart district in Lohr from 1919 to 1921 . From 1921 to 1931 he worked at the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture in Munich and from 1931 to 1938 he served as district administrator of the district of Miltenberg .

Kihn worked from 1938 to 1947 as an advisor to the government of Lower Franconia in Würzburg and from 1947 to 1950 as a department head in the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture. From 1950 until his age-related retirement in 1952, he was District President of Lower Franconia.

Kihn joined the Christian Social Union (CSU) after 1945. In the Bundestag election in 1953 he became a member of the German Bundestag (2nd electoral period 1953–1957) as a member of the Bundestag constituency of Würzburg . During this time he was chairman of the working group for general and legal issues of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

He was a full member of the Committee on Internal Administration Affairs and the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Law.

Honors

In 1958 he was appointed Knight of the Papal Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Nicola Cardinal Canali and invested in the Church of St. Andrew's Basilica on December 6, 1958 by Lorenz Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy .
