Ludwig von Kobell

Ludwig von Kobell (born July 3, 1840 in Munich , † February 5, 1907 in Würzburg ) was a Bavarian administrative and court official from the Kobell family .

Life

Ludwig von Kobell was born as the son of the Secretary General of the Council of State Sebastien von Kobell (1801–1875) and Magdalene née von Heppenstein – Kornburg (1811–1868). From 1858 to 1862 he studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1859 he became a member of the Isaria Corps .

After completing his studies, von Kobell entered the Bavarian civil service. In 1870 he became an assessor at the district office in Landsberg am Lech and in 1871 moved to Augsburg in the same position . In 1880 he was appointed to the police council in Munich and in 1885 to the district administrator . In 1890 he was promoted to a councilor in the government of Upper Bavaria . In 1900 he was transferred to the government of the Palatinate as a government director . In 1901 von Kobell was appointed district president of Lower Franconia . He held the office until his death.

Von Kobell was the Royal Bavarian Chamberlain and carried the honorary title of Excellence . Since 1870 he was married to Anna von Stetten (1846–1921). His son Ferdinand von Kobell was Rittmeister in the Royal Bavarian 1st Heavy Rider Regiment "Prince Karl of Bavaria" and chief of the 5th Squadron. He was seriously wounded in October 1914 and returned to the troops in January 1915. In 1921 he was discharged from the army and died without male descendants in 1948. His wife followed him in 1974 at the age of 92.
