The corps members are called Isars.
Color
Isaria has the colors green-white-blue with silver percussion. A green cap is also worn. The Isarenfüchse wear a fox ribbon in white-green.
The motto is Virtus et honos (virtue and honor!). The emblem is Sit ensis noster vindex! .
history
The Corps Isaria was founded on July 13, 1821 at the University of Landshut under the leadership of Anton von Nagel zu Aichberg as a result of the division of the Bavarian Landsmannschaft there . After the university was relocated to Munich (1826), the corps also moved to the Bavarian capital. At the turn of the year 1831/32, when the entire student body was seized by increasing politicization, Isaria worked together with the fraternity of Germania in an association of liberal students , maintaining her independence and her country-style forms . The corps was therefore dissolved by the state government on April 10, 1832. Isaria continued to exist in secret until 1834, but then dissolved for good.
On August 8, 1844, former members of the Corps Bavaria Munich founded a new Isaria, which was initially not recognized by the SC and the authorities. The re-founders of the corps held out with exemplary devotion for over three years until they were finally granted a royal guarantee on May 2, 1847, after the fall of the previous ultra-montane ministry and the beginning of a more liberal government. As a representative of the Munich Senior Citizens 'Convention (MSC), Isaria took part in the establishment of the Kösener Senior Citizens' Convention Association (KSCV) in 1848 , but only ratified its membership in 1862. On February 4, 1849, it was converted into a life corps . In 1862 the Isaria of 1844 was officially recognized by the SC as the successor to the Isaria of 1821. In 1873 it was converted back into a weapon corps ; a driving force was Philipp Zorn .
In 1900/01 the corp house of Isaria in Maria-Theresia-Straße was built according to plans by the architect Eugen Drollinger .
Due to the structure of its relationships with other corps, the Corps Isaria is now included in the Blue Circle within the KSCV. The corps of the “Blue Circle” lead the so-called social principle, ie the maintenance of social life at the respective university location. In the course of this, balls and parties, lectures and other cultural events are offered to which the entire student body is invited. Representatives of the Corps Isaria also traditionally accompany the debutants of the Chrysanthemum Ball , a charity gala held in Munich from 1925 to 2017 for the benefit of children in need.
In 2002/03 Isaria was the presiding suburban corps in the KSCV and, along with Philipp Mauch, was the chairman of the oKC.
