Josef Leinauer
Josef Leinauer (born March 15, 1831 in Affoltern am Albis , † May 22, 1891 in Weissenhorn ) was a German singer.
Life
Leinauer initially studied at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and was a member of the Corps Isaria from 1852 . With a talent for bass , he had his voice trained. He made his debut in the 1855/56 season at the Zurich Opera House . The next stations were the Trier City Theater (1856/57), the Mainz State Theater (1858–1860), the Stettin City Theater (1860/61), the Hanover Opera House (1861/62 and 1863–1869), and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Städtische Theater (1862/63), Theater Dortmund (1872–1875) and Theater Lübeck (1875/76). He stayed at the City Theater in Königsberg (1876–1882) and at the Breslau City Theater (1882–1888) for six years. Leinauer was also active as a concert singer and singing teacher . In 1890 he took his final stage farewell in Breslau. He moved to Augsburg and died in Swabia (Bavaria) . He was married to the soprano Marie Leinauer-zum Busch († 1904).
