Concert singer , and concert singers are singers of classical music , their performances in concert halls represent their activity a significant part, such as a soloist in a performance of oratorios and symphonic works or as a recitalist with piano, chamber music - or orchestral accompaniment. Numerous conservatoires offer concert singing as a subject.

Some concert singers accept little or no stage engagements. The reasons for this can be very different, such as physical factors, an aversion to mask , costumes and acting , avoidance of the time expenditure for opera productions or a special interest and talent for oratorios and song singing .

Classic examples of concert singers are Josepha Duschk and Thomas Quasthoff .
