Concert hall
The Wiener Musikverein - traditionally praised for its good acoustics.
The Auditorio de Tenerife in Tenerife's capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
The concert hall of the Szczecin Philharmonic .
A concert hall is a building that serves as a performance venue for choral and instrumental music as part of concerts . Many larger cities have such a named facility. The actual room in which the performances take place is called the “concert hall”.
Two classic shapes can be distinguished in concert halls: the rectangular "shoebox" as in the Wiener Musikverein and the oval, terraced "vineyard" as in the Berlin Philharmonic .
The room acoustics in numerous halls must or had to be optimized later. Heinrich Keilholz was a recognized expert in this area.
In German, concert halls often also have the names Philharmonie or Tonhalle .
