August Schätz , from 1906 Ritter von Schätz (born January 27, 1856 in Haag in Upper Bavaria , † June 10, 1911 in Munich ) was a German lawyer and official in Bavaria.

Life

Karl August Schätz was the son of the gold worker in Haag Ludwig Schätz and Josepha born. Lueginger. In 1874 he passed the Abitur examination at the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich with Eugen Albert , Theodor Henkel and Max Planck . He then studied law at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 1875 to 1878 . In 1875 he was reciprocated in the Isaria Corps . In 1878 he worked as an intern at the district court in Haag, in 1880 at the district court in Traunstein as well as at the district office and the magistrate in Munich. In 1881 he passed the state examination with grade 1 and then worked as an accessist in the government of Upper Bavaria ; from 1882 at the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior for Church and School Affairs . In 1892 he became a Councilor , 1898 to Senior Government , 1902 Ministerial . Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria awarded him the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown in 1906 , combined with the elevation to the personal nobility . Since 1907 Bavarian State Councilor , he was appointed Ministerial Director in the Ministry of Education in 1908. There he was responsible as a consultant for the grammar school system. Schätz was married to the landlord's daughter Maria geb. Greißl (* 1858) from Forstinning ; the marriage had four sons and two daughters.
