The Corps Silvania Tharandt zu Dresden is a dutiful and high-profile student association in the Kösener SC Association.

history

The federation was founded on May 19, 1859 at the Tharandt Forestry University . The colors are beech shoot green-white-gold, the fox colors beech shoot green-white on golden percussion. A white striker is worn in summer .

The motto is: Neminem laede, neminem time .

From 1848 to 1851 there was already the Corps Silvania I ( extinct Corps ) in Tharandt with the colors green-red-white, whose colors persist in the coat of arms of today's Silvania. The Silvania I has had a close relationship with the corps at the nearby Freiberg Mining Academy since it was founded . So around 1850 there was a cartel with the Corps Franconia Freiberg (at that time still with the colors green-white-red; today Corps Franconia Fribergensis in the Weinheim senior citizens' convent ).

On January 18, 1923, Silvania was recipients of the KSCV. On October 10, 1935, under pressure from the Nazi regime, it ceased active operations. The old gentlemen formed the "Hermann Löns" comradeship, which presumably lasted until the end of the war , together with the old rulers of the Corps Hercynia and the Tharandter Tischgesellschaft Zum Burgkeller . Since a reconstitution in Tharandt was not possible even after the end of the war, the Corps Arminia Munich took over the tradition of Silvania in 1953 until German reunification . She took most of the surviving members of the Silvania on July 10, 1958. Instead, four members received the Corps Franconia Fribergensis ribbon between 1957 and 1959.

In 1987 the idea of reviving the student union arose in Tharandt. In 1989 this was still called the Silvania fraternity . Due to disputes with the old Silvania about the acceptance of the corps status, the Forest Academic Hunting Corporation Cervidia zu Tharandt (in the WJSC ) split off in 1990 .

In 2009 the corps moved from Tharandt to Dresden . It is the first Kösener Corps in the state capital of Saxony . With its tradition and long suspension, it has mainly forest masters in its ranks.
