history

The Academic Reading Association was founded in Leoben on October 16, 1881 . He had the color black-red-gold and stood for absolute satisfaction . On May 22, 1884, the table company in the Gasthaus zum Weisse Kreuz was established there and on December 4, 1886, the leather table company . These two spin-offs became fraternities. From May 24, 1890 to June 6, 1891, the reading club was a member of the Waidhofener Association of Austrian Academic Defense Associations . The reading association changed its name on May 3, 1902 to Association of German Students . On June 29, 1902 the addition "ore" was adopted. At the same time, full color was introduced; a blue flat cap with a black, red and gold ribbon on a blue background.

Ore was a member of the Kyffhäuser Association of the Ostmark since March 2, 1912 , of the German United Student Union from March 20, 1919, and of the conference of defensive associations from December 3, 1920 to May 23, 1921 .

On February 28, 1925, ore declared itself a corps and chose the colors black – dark blue – gold. With this change, the determination of rackets was introduced. Until then, only duels with the heavy saber were allowed. The motto is STRONG BY UNITY, WITH COURAGE TO GOAL . In the summer semester of 1934, the Corps renounced at the Leoben Senior Citizens' Convention , to which it was reciprocated on June 24, 1935. When the Kösener SC-Verband was dissolved a little later, the corps in Austria remained in the Working Group of the Austrian Corps (AGOeC) until March 17, 1938 . Erz suspended in the summer semester of 1938 and supported the comradeship Günther Fischerauer with the Corps Montania Leoben . Fischerauer became Erzer in 1934 and died in the Austrian Civil War . After the Second World War , the old gentlemen's association of the Erz Corps was reactivated . The Corpsburschen-Convent was reconstituted on December 10, 1949. In 1952, the friendship relationship with the Corps Teutonia Graz from the difficult time of the corporate state was transformed into a cartel, which broke up in 1978. Erz was also temporarily in a conceptual relationship with the Corps Isaria .

The Austrian corps were not involved in the reconstitution of the Kösener SC-Verband; but they were recognized as members on May 19, 1951. In 2001, Erz appointed Peter Berger as the chairman of the oKC.

In the winter semester 2010/11, a friendship was concluded with the Corps Borussia Clausthal in the WSC . The Erz Corps is one of the few corps to maintain a relationship with a corps of another umbrella organization.
