Ivan Lukjanow , Moldovan Ion Luchianov ( Russian Иван Лукьянов , born January 31, 1981 in Slobozia-Duşca , Moldovan SSR , USSR ) is a former Moldovan , from 2014 Russian obstacle runner .

Luchianov was eleventh in the obstacle course at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Santiago de Chile in 2000 . In his participation in the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , he could not qualify for the finals.

Luchianov reached his first major final in the adult division at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he finished twelfth in the obstacle course. In 2009 he won the Universiade in Belgrade , after having finished second in İzmir in 2005 and third in Bangkok in 2007 . At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin , however, he failed in the run-up.

Luchianov celebrated his most important international success to date by winning the bronze medal at the 2010 European Athletics Championships in Barcelona. Originally, he had reached the goal in fourth, but moved up one place in the ranking after third-placed Spaniard José Luis Blanco was subsequently disqualified for doping . At the 2011 World Athletics Championships in Daegu Luchianov was eighth. The following year he came in eleventh place at the European Championships in Helsinki and tenth at the Olympic Games in London.

On December 28, 2013, he received Russian citizenship. Originally, the IAAF wanted to allow him to start for Russia on December 27, 2014, but then the deadline was shortened. As a result, from May 15, 2014, he was able to officially represent Russia in international competitions.
