After an interruption due to the war and the post-war period , he re-enrolled at Philipps University in the summer semester of 1948, first for journalism , then for law . During the reconstitution of the Corps Guestphalia Marburg on February 26, 1949, he became the founding senior of the "black Westphalia". In December 1950 he passed the trainee examination and in December 1953 the assessor examination. In 1959 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . Interested in history since school , Gladen turned to the history of his corps and (from 1981) the history of the student associations . Together with Hans Peter Hümmer and Harald Lönnecker, he obtained the bibliography of then and now , the yearbook of the Society for Corps Student History Research, in 1995 and 2005 . He is an honorary member of today's Corps Guestphalia et Suevoborussia Marburg .
