- February 18 : The Turkish government decides to abolish polygamy and the harem system and to adopt the Swiss Civil Code (ZGB).
- March 23 : In Ireland is of Éamon de Valera , the Fianna Fáil founded -party. She rejects the Anglo-Irish Treaty and only changes this attitude many years later.
- April 20 : US Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon and French Ambassador to Washington, Henri Bérénger, sign a foundation agreement on France's inter-allied war debts from the First World War .
- April 20th to 24th: Paris conference on the amendment of the International Agreement on Motor Vehicle Traffic on October 11, 1909. On April 24th, the International Agreement on Motor Vehicle Traffic was adopted.
- April 24th : Treaty of Berlin . Germany signs a friendship treaty with the USSR .
- April 25 : Reza Pahlavi is crowned the new Shah of Persia in Tehran .

- October 31 : In Bologna , fifteen-year-old Anteo Zamboni tries to shoot the fascist Prime Minister Benito Mussolini during a commemorative parade for the March on Rome . The assassin is attacked and lynched by nearby fascists . He dies the same day.
- November 27 : The Albanian government concludes the first Tirana Pact with Italy and in return receives financial aid and support in building up the police force. With the treaty, President Ahmet Zogu strengthens his domestic political position.
- December 10 : The German Foreign Minister Gustav Stresemann receives the Nobel Peace Prize together with his French counterpart Aristide Briand .
- December 23 : The Labor Court Act creates the Reich Labor Court in the Weimar Republic and regulates the work of the judiciary in labor matters.
- The USSR annexes the Franz Josef Land archipelago , which was only discovered in 1873 .
